Elderly aged workers in Japan

A short post this morning from here in rainy Glasgow, Scotland. A photograph of mine which I shot on assignment in western Japan is used today in Businessweek magazine, and on their website, in an article about old Japanese people retiring and then continuing to work. The photo came from an interesting and enjoyable editorial reportage shoot in a light industrial factory a couple of years back.

The original client used this exact frame also, and then from the 40 or so images from that series Businessweek chose the same image. You can see why though, the woman perfectly shows her age, but is happy, upbeat etc. It’s an attractive old people at work photo, even if I do say so myself…

Here’s how it looked on the Businessweek website. The magazine tear sheet wasn’t so interesting.
