Thoughts of a Tokyo, Japan-based editorial corporate portrait assignments photographer

Seeing things clearly.

Now usually I don’t get too excited about seeing my pics in newspapers, I’ve had thousands I guess over the years. But occasionally one is used nicely, a good size, alongside a good article, and it makes you smile to see the fruits of your labours. So it was on Saturday when my photograph of Stuart Chambers, CEO of Nippon Sheet Glass, climbing Mount Fuji was used in The Times. It was a great day out, bit arduous, but memorable. And nice to see the paper use the image well. From base camp (otherwise known as the car park) at Station 5 I knew the best image would be the CEO coming through one of the Shinto torii gates. And so it was. It says Japan, it says exotic, it says Fuji. I did most of the climb with the camera in the bag, and only took it out to do the torii pics. So it’s nice to see it used well. ( to see the full set of what was sent to the paper follow the link).
