Thoughts of a Tokyo, Japan-based editorial corporate portrait assignments photographer

Most pictures you see of Mount Fuji show it in an idyllic setting, a lake, beautiful clouds, light, …..nice, and there is some spectacular pics of it in such depictions, I commend the photographers for their abilities. But personally I alway smile as I hurtle past Fuji-san, 40minutes out of Tokyo on the early morning shinkansen bullet train, heading south, out the right hand window, and you see it behind the smoke stacks, the car parks, the anonymous town with it’s middle sized factories, and apartment blocks, wires and fleeting glimpses of train stations, and poles and bridges. Much more appealing to me. I never tire of shooting it.
