Thoughts of a Tokyo, Japan-based editorial corporate portrait assignments photographer

Two bits of paper

Above, a payslip for a Papua New Guinea working in the forests as a forklift truck operator, working in the logging industry. After deductions for tax, and for paying his bill at the Company owned store where he must buy food at inflated prices, he earned for a 118 hours of work, the total of 66 PNG Kina, or 14.52 GBP.

…and on the same day I took the above pic I found in my back pocket of my denims a receipt for two coffees, a hot choclate and a piece of carrot cake, bought recently in Scotland, costing 9.80 GBP, or in PNG Kina 44.53.
