A while back I photographed Yakuza-gangster’s daughter, Shoko Tendo, now a best-selling author (of book ‘Yakuza Moon’). Then I photographed her again. And again…
Now in the shops, available at all good bookstores, is the USA December edition of Marie Claire magazine which has a 4 page spread of the pics and story. They chose the right pics I feel, but perhaps not shown to the best in my opinion (as the never-happy photographer). Once I get a tear sheet I’ll post it here. In the meantime here’s a pic of Tendo-san and her daughter which I was pleased with. Took a bit of persuading to get it done, but it worked, and all were happy with it.

i’ve seen one of the photographs from the set published in the sunday times’ ‘culture’ weekend supplement. it looked pretty good and i thought it seems to be a part of the bigger story. and now i know it is.

Beautiful pictures taken. Wow, it’s an eye opening a true story of a yakuza life. Ups Ups, i’m going to buy a copy.
