Carterets Islands

The picture above is taken on last weeks assignment in the Carteret islands off of Papua New Guinea. It’s my favourite shot from the trip, a nice quiet moment by the shore. One of those moments when you’re hanging around, nothing expected, (I was waiting for a boat to come and collect me) and suddenly it all begins to form in front of you, seen in 36mm x 24mm dimensions.

I was there with Richard Lloyd Parry, of The Times, and his article appears today in the paper.

Wow, artistically seen pic – captures the relaxed close-to-nature lifestyle of the children. Similarly, being close to the sea, fishing and boats are an important part of the adults’ lifestyle.
